Easter Golf Weekend
Our Easter Golf competition, held on Monday April 2, was well supported and everyone had an awesome time. Our winners of the competition, coming in with a mind blowing score of 100 was Sabiha Bacaus, Jacques Hulley, Micky Eriksen and Dominic Jarvis. Coming in 2 nd with a score of 90 was Riek Jansen Van Rensburg, Mike Mare, Julian Rivetti and Claude da Silva. 3 rd place went to Devlyn Fraser, Ganus Naicker, Bing Opie and Dave Mulroy with a nett score of 86. UGC would like to thank everyone who supported us on this day, we appreciate your time and dedication to the club.
We would also like to announce a R5.00 increase in all our green fees. This fee increase was implemented on April 1 st .
This week the club welcomed Tim and Ray Clark as well Peter and Jason Gilliver. John Ridl and Michelle van der Merwe were also welcomed and played in our Saturday competition.
Derek Airey won our Individual Stableford competition that was held on Wednesday 28 March, with a nett score of 39. With one point behind, Roddy McGibbon came in second with 38 points and Nelson Moonsamy came in third with 37 points.
Our Alliance League – Round 2 winners were Team Last Minute, Nelson Moonsamy, John Ridl, Derek Airey and Raymond Ntobela with 92 points. Dave Mulroy, Graham Coxell, Sabiha Bacaus and Jacques Hulley, the Dream Team, came in second with 88 points. Third place, losing on the count out, went to Team Naicker, Tom, Tash, Viv and Dean, with 88 points.
Tash Naicker claimed the Jackpot Prize with 11 points. Our Nearest to the Pins winners were, Lesa Vegottini, Dave Mulroy, Wally Kent and Patrick Ndlovu.
Our Monthly Medal competition will be held on April 7.
Make sure you diarise Towies Day for May 1. This will be a huge sponsored golf day so don’t miss out on the fun. A poster and more information will follow soon.
Our Big Braai Nite, will be taking place on Friday 20 April. Bring your family and friends, some meat and maybe even a picnic blanket and join us on the course for an awesome time. On May 11, we are having our Glow in The Dark Golf. There will also be a night market and a kiddies jumping castle. Watch this space for more updates.
Club Champs will take place on the 14 th and 15 th of April. The entry forms can be found in the clubhouse on the noticeboard. Please note that entries close on the 7 th of April.
