RIP Dave Clark

March 26, 2018

It was a heart breaking week at Umkomaas Golf Club after finding out about the passing of Mr Dave Clark, Tim Clark's father. Mr Clark was sick for some time and eventually passed away on
Wednesday 21 March.

The Wake ceremony was held at the club on Saturday 24 March where old friends and family as well as golf members attended to pay tribute to the kind gentleman.  During Dave Clark’s earlier days, he spent his time running the ProShop and was a proud member at UGC. Rest in Peace Dave Clark.

It wasn't all tears at UGC, the Bingo Nite held on Friday 23 March was a great success.  Well done to all the winners and a high five to the UGC Marketing Team for pulling off another successful event.

Our next event, The Big Braai Nite, will be taking place on Friday 20 April. We will supply the
charcoal and braai stands, all you have to do is bring your own meat, some friends and family and
have a good time with us. Please note that no alcohol may be brought onto the property. Watch
out for and share the poster on our Facebook Page: Umkomaas Golf Club.

This week the club welcomed Patrick, Wayne Schonken and Ganus Naicker who played on
Wednesday and Tallies Taljaard who played on Saturday.

It was Happy Human Rights Day on Wednesday 21 March as many golfers exercised their right to
play golf on UGC soil. The 4 Ball Better Ball competition winners were Jimmy Pickavance and Dave Kemp with a nett score of 47. 2nd and 3rd place were taken by Bing Opie and Graham Coxell with a score of 45 and Barrie Taylor and Ganus Naicker on a score of 43.

The winner of the Individual Stableford Competition held on Saturday 24th March, was Viv Naicker with a nett score of 39. Coming in 2nd and winning on the count out with a score of 37 was Joe Mkhungu and 3rd place went to Sean Prendergast with a 37 nett score.

The Jackpot Prize was shared between father and son, Viv and Tash Naicker with 11 points.

Club Champs will take place on the 14th and 15th of April. The entry forms can be found in the
clubhouse on the noticeboard. Please note that entries close on the 7th of April.
