UGC HAS THEIR GAME DOWN TO THE TEE
It was another busy week at Umkomaas Golf Club with some stiff competition and brilliant results.
On Sunday, 4th March, our Allerton League played EThekwini Golf Club at Umkomaas and won with the final score 7 – 5.
Our ladies, Sabiha Bacaus and Natalie Singer competed in the KZN Champs – Silver Division at MountEdgecombe on Sunday 11 th March. Both ladies gave it their all with Sabiha finishing on a score of 85 and Natalie on 93.
This week the club welcomed Allan Eriksen, who played in Wednesday’s competition as well as Dave Rickards, Tallies Jaljaard, Dumi and Chris Coxell all who played on Saturday. We also had a loyal and avid Kids Golf Member, Avanth Sook who took to the tee on Saturday morning and participated is his first competition with Devlyn Fraser.
The Individual Stableford competition held on Wednesday 7th February saw Dave Kemp achieving 1st place with a score of 43. Allan Eriksen was close behind, coming in 2nd place with a score of 40 and Garth Wilyman in 3rd place with a 38 nett score.
The results of the 4 Ball Better Ball Competition that was held on Saturday 10th March were very close. Keith and Lesa Vergottini claimed 1st position with an amazing score of 49. 2nd position went to Nelson Moonsamy and Warren Taylor with a 44 nett score and just 1 point away, Bing Opie and Dave Mulroy coming in 3rd position with a nett score of 43.
The Jackpot prize went to Kuben Naidoo with 11 points.
Don’t forget about KidsGolf which will be on Saturday mornings from 8am to 9am.
Our Fun Bingo Nite, has been scheduled for the Friday 23 rd March. Friends and family are more than welcome to join. Watch out for the poster on our Facebook Page: Umkomaas Golf Club.
On Saturday 17 March, we will be having our 4 Ball Waltzing Alliance Competition. Tee off times start from 10am and there are a limited number of carts available.
